Chairs: Heather Salg, Esq. of CDLA and Nelson Boyle, Esq. of CTLA
In honor of Legal Professionalism Month, the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association (CDLA) and the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association (CTLA) are hosting a reception and special CLE discussion. Join us on Thursday, October 25 at the Ralph L. Carr Colorado Judicial Center from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Applied for One Ethics Credit.
Stuart Jorgensen of Stuart S. Jorgensen and Associates, and Kari Jones Dulin of Foster Graham Milstein & Calisher, LLP will speak to members of both bars regarding the Supreme Court's revised C.R.C.P. 16.1 procedures which apply to cases filed after September 1, 2018. The presenters will discuss some of the more remarkable rule modifications, and potential confusion that might arise if the parties do not address possible interpretations of the modifications. There are limited but important changes to disclosures, discovery, case management conferences, timing of deadlines, and ethics. The presenters will offer some “best practices” for moving forward with these cases.
After the presentation, the associations will honor this year’s Professionalism Award recipients: Michael Keating of Keating Wagner Polidori Free and Gerald Pratt of the Law Office of Gerald D. Pratt, PC.
The event will be followed by a networking happy hour.
